Sexual Assault Attorneys in Edwardsville, Illinois
Whether it's "date rape" or a charge of abuse, many sexual assault cases revolve around he said/she said. Getting to the truth can often mean wading through conflicting statements and issues regarding consent. Mix drugs and alcohol into the picture and it becomes an even more confusing predicament. There's nothing confusing, though, about a conviction for sexual assault: Not only does it mean mandatory jail time, but also a lifetime on the sex offender registration rolls.
At the law office of Polinske & Associates, we know how to help people who have been charged with sexual assault. Attorneys Brian Polinske and Donna Morrison are former prosecutors with vast criminal defense and trial experience. People v. Waltman - May 2010. My client, a financial sector profession, was arrested for allegedly committing a sexual assault upon a young child. She vehemently denied the allegations. We fully reviewed the case and decided to announce ready for trial. We scheduled a polygraph (lie detector) test for her and tendered her satisfactory completion of the test to the State. My client was facing up to 30 years if convicted. We submitted a long list of witnesses whom we subpoenaed for trial. The State ultimately dismissed the felony charges against my client. She is now able to continue working in the financial sector.
